When the Registrar of Cooperative Societies failed to hand over possession of completed flats for five years, these aggrieved members of those societies conducted a self-draw in the presence of different political leaders including Delhi Pradesh BJP president Vijender Gupta, Congress MP Mahabal Mishra, Delhi unit CPI general secretary Amarjit Kaur, local MLA Dharm Dev Solanki etc.

Mahabal Mishra, West Delhi MP, on Wednesday said that self allotment draw conducted by the members of 28 cooperative housing societies of Dwarka in January 2010 should be regularised. The Congress leader along with a delegation of members of group housing societies also made a representation before Delhi Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna, who is also chairman Delhi Development Authority, in this regard. Mishra requested all FIRs lodged against Managing Committee members of self drawn 28 cooperative housing societies by the RCS should also be withdrawn as members have been living happily and peacefully in their flats after the self-draw.u00a0u00a0
"The houses were ready but they were not allotted to us. We couldn't wait any longer. The decision was taken by consensus of all society members," said a member of association of Suffering Members of Cooperative Group Housing Societies.

The delegation requested the L-G to not impose any penalty while regularising their self conducted draw. "Admissible pre-occupancy charges of DDA be levied upon for those societies who are yet to get Pre-Occupancy Certificate and Completion Certificate and opted for self draw. As these people have been living for the last one and a half years without any complaints, the same should be regularised. There is no need for fresh draw by DDA," said Mishra.
