In fact, men are more cooperative, while women can be a real hurdle. When I started I was just 29-years-old. I was always mistaken for a secretary. My leadership qualities have helped me."

Prameela Kalive
Global HR head, Zenzar

Prameela has been a working professional for the last 22 years. "It is easier to work with women because they are emotionally intelligent.

Women are emotional, yet strong and it becomes easy for men to connect with their bosses. There are different methods to drive a team.

Men prefer challenges, visibility and clarity while working and women, on the other hand, like multi-tasking, changes and ambiguity."

Madhuri Bogawat
Regional manager, Inox

"If you are good at your work it doesn't matter whether you are a man or woman. Within a year of my employment, I grew in the hierarchy.

It's very important that you know how to get work done or where to draw the line. In fact, it's more difficult for men, as they have tough men as fellow competitors.

Women are instinctive, sharper and also good at making spontaneous decisions."u00a0

A day for women

August 26 of each year is designated in the United States as Women's Equality Day. Instituted by Bella Abzug, a celebrated champion of women's rights, and first established in 1971, the date commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave US women full voting rights in 1920.
