Top cop accepts that the Chinnaswamy stadium wasn't provided the best security; says it will not be repeated again. Manjunath L Hanji reports

It didn't resort to the standard operating procedure, which required the stadium and it's surroundings to be sealed. And finally, the city police commissioner has accepted the lapse on polices' part.

Shankar Bidari, accepted that there was a security lapse at the stadium.

He said, "We failed to give the best security to the stadium. We have learnt our lesson and won't repeat it again. In fact, now we'll make security arrangements at least 36 hours prior to the game."

Following the blasts outside Chinnaswamy Stadium last week, cops have been deployed inside the stadium.

A police constable from Upparpeth, who was manning Gate number 13 on the day of the blasts, said, "No one informed us about the blasts.

We came to know about it only after we found a live bomb at Gate number 8. During such incidents, out bosses used to be clear about the ground reality.

However, we don't know why they tried to cloak this matter."

After two blasts and finding one live bomb at the Chinnaswamy stadium, the city police didn't even stop the traffic. It clearly indicates that they didn't want it make it sound like a big deal.
