Patna: At least 12 people were killed and six others seriously injured Wednesday when a speeding passenger van collided with a truck in Bihar's Lakhisarai district, police said.
Lakhisarai Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh said the accident took place near Mahrath village when a speeding van, crowded with passengers, collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
He said eight people were killed on the spot and four others died later in the hospital where they were admitted. The six injured were being treated in the hospital.
