As the third World 10K marathon will be held in the city this Sunday, 23,245 participants from different walks of life are all geared be a part of the gala event.

However, most of themu00a0 will run with an intention of bringing a change to the lives of the deprived.
Prathana Unkalkar (31), a former IBM employee who's now heading iVolunteer, had quit left her job only to work for something that's close to her heart.
The beneficiaries will be the organisations that are genuinely working for the deprived and the ones I've volunteered with."
She added that by running the marathon, she intends to send across a message to the people that how satisfying it is to be of any help to others.
Meena Dave (39), CEO of Bangalore Cares, said that she's participating in the event to make people close to her realise that social service is in fact quite satisfying.
"There are people who wish to support a cause but they just don't do anything about it. I want this attitude to change and a marathon is probably the best platform to it."
Also, Muniswamy Srinivas, a Provision Asia volunteer who is confined to his wheelchair, will also participate in the run.

"I want to show people that nothing is impossible and even a physically disabled can encourage people to work for the betterment of society."
His organisation works with the Bangalore Central Jail where prisoners assemble wheelchairs that are distributedu00a0 across the state.
