Party suspended Tunna Ji Pandey soon after
Patna/Hajipur: A BJP MLC was arrested in Hajipur for sexually harassing a minor girl in a train, prompting the party to suspend him. BJP MLC Tunna Ji Pandey was arrested on the basis of a complaint by parents of the 12-year-old after the incident on Howrah-Gorakhpur Poorvanchal Express, the Superintendent of Railway Police Muzaffarpur, B N Jha said.
The parents alleged Pandey — a BJP MLC from local bodies quota in Siwan — kissed their daughter in an AC-2 tier coach. The MLC was remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody. Pandey, however, denied the charges.
An embarassed BJP, however, suspended Pandey immediately. Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted, “BJP has suspended party MLC Tunna Pandey.”
