The Vimantal Police yesterday arrested Santosh Gholap (25), the driver of Jagdish Mulik. Mulik along with his accomplices had attacked Shiv Sena district organiser Nitin Bhujbal in Viman Nagar
Mulik is the brother of a BJP corporator Sheri Yogesh Mulik from Vadgaon.u00a0
The incident occurred yesterday, when Bhujbal came out of his office located in Sakorenagar area of Viman Nagar along with Sena corporator Sachin Bhagat and MNS Student’s wing district president Hemant Batte and Dhananjay Dhokale.

Mulik along with his accomplices attacked Bhujbal with hockey sticks and other sharp weapons.
Police Inspector Sunil Gharge said that Bhujbal was raising his voice against the installation of illegal gas pipes in Ramwadi area.
“Since the last couple of days the work of installation of illegal gas pipe has been going on by private contractor in Ramwadi area. However, when Bhujbal noticed it he protested,” said Gharge.u00a0
He further added that before the attack on Bhujbal, he and Mulik had a long public argument at a private function.
“Complaints were lodged both by Mulik and Bhujbal, and we arrested Gholap who had also taken part in the attack,” said Gharge. u00a0
