Students of e-PIC will exhibit digital artworks that depict Lord Ganesha fighting social evils

As Ganesh Utsav draws closer, the city is abuzz with activities. In the mad rush of shopping sprees for idols, decorations and sweets, take a break from age-old traditions and drop in at Shri Avatar - Digital Ganeshotsav.
The exhibition has been organised by the students of a multimedia and animation institute and feature around 60 paintings of Ganesha in different forms and with various social messages.

A painting that raises awareness about noise pollution

The exhibition will also feature traditional ceremonies such as the installation of Ganesh idol, pooja, aarti and even the immersion presented in a digital format.

"The highlight of the show is the social message that each painting will convey," says Santosh Raskar, executive director of the institute. So, art lovers will be able to see Lord Ganesha tackling problems such as swine flu, river pollution, noise pollution, tree felling, water scarcity and other issues. The exhibition aims at creating social awareness for these problems and their solutions through presentations, which will be visually appealing as well as educative. "We wanted to give the students a feel of working in a professional environment and allow them to showcase their talents," adds Raskar.u00a0u00a0
