"We want to spend Rs 1 crore for disaster management. The amount will be primarily used for the installation of CCTVs at public places. This system can be useful for PMC officials as well as the city police to monitor public places," said Nikam.

PMC has already spent Rs 15. 5 crore installing 70 CCTV cameras at 52 locations in the city under the Area Traffic Control System, in which a special traffic management monitoring central control room has been developed at Swargate. "New CCTVs will be added to the present system," Nikam said.

Nikam suggested Rs 518 crore be kept aside for roads, traffic control, special projects and public transport system.
