The alert hostel staff immediately rushed the student to the nearest hospital. The boy is now out of danger.u00a0“Exams are on and despite having a paper at 2 pm the student remained in his room until 1.30 pm.

One of the staffers got suspicious and decided to check what the matter was. Upon opening the door, he found the boy in an unconscious state. We managed to shift him to Sancheti Hospital within 30 minutes of the incident,” said hostel rector B G Birajdar.

Asked what precautions the college administration was taking, as this was the second incident within a span of eight days, Birajdar said, “Our staffers check each and every room to ensure that sure every student leaves the room to appear for his or her exam.

The boy who took the extreme step today is a sincere student, which has surprised us all. We are yet to interact with him, but he is out of danger.”

Inspector Seema Mehendale of the Shivajinagar police station said, “I have not received any complaint from the CoEP administration yet. In fact, I recently came to know about the incident. I have sent officials to check the matter.”u00a0
