Pending reply from civil court, PMC yet to disqualify corporator serving life term
Corporeteru00a0Datta Khade is serving life imprisonment at Yerawada Central Prison, but the Pune Municipal Commission (PMC) is yet to disqualify him. The PMC is awaiting a reply from the civil court on the corporator's disqualification.u00a0
Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal, said: "I heard the proposal to disqualify Khade will be discussed in GB, but nothing has come to me so far from the PMC administration." However, he hinted that it would be discussed in the GB in December.
A senior BJP corporator, under the condition of anonymity, said: "We feel really ashamed that the PMC have some corporators in all parties who have criminal backgrounds. Some have been charged under murder, some for attempted murder and remaining for land grabbing. They are all 'qualified' to sit in the PMC GB as the court has not proved them guilty."
