Cops arrest robbers, solve murder mystery

With the arrest of Santosh (27), the Chamarajpet police have claimed to solve the August 5 murder of Fayaz Pasha (45), a factory worker, in Briand Square. Another co-accused, Vinayak, is still absconding.

With the arrest of Santosh (27), the Chamarajpet police have claimed to solve the August 5 murder of Fayaz Pasha (45), a factory worker, in Briand Square. Another co-accused, Vinayak, is still absconding.

On August 16, a team led by Chamarajpet sub division ACP Esmail Sharief raided a vacant site in Vittal Nagar, after getting a tip off that a five-member gang was planning a dacoity, and arrested Ramesh (24), Balasubramanya (27) and Ravi (25). Two others, Anil and Dilip managed to give the cops a slip.

The police have recovered two knives, a razor, a pack of chilli powder and three mobile phones from the gang.

Inspector BG Rathnakar, from the Chamarajpet police station said, "During interrogation, the trio revealed that Santosh and Vinayak were involved in a murder at Briand Square, and were hiding in Tamil Nadu. We sent a team there and arrested Santosh."






When he refused, Satosh stabbed him, and ran away when he saw a motorcycle approach.

The beat cops rushed Fayaz to Victoria hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Santosh has confessed to the crime, " he added.

Santosh has several robbery cases lodged against him in various police stations. He was just released after a one-year imprisonment on July 31.

Even Vinayak, who is absconding has robbery case against him, was also released from jail few months ago.

The other three also have robbery cases lodged against them.
