Are the security guards at the India International trade Fair (IITF) zealously guarding your health? Decide for yourself. Several visitors say they are being asked to leave their cigarette packs at the entrance. However, when they come to collect it on the way out, the packets are returned empty.

Naresh Sharma, a visitor at IITF had a similar experience. "I was asked to leave my pack at the entry gate. Later, when I came to collect it, they said it was finished. I found it really funny and surprising also that they had used up my pack. If I had known, I would not have brought it here."

"This is ridiculous on part of the security officials. Stealing cigarettes and that too during checking is unbecoming of them. I was really shocked when I came out and saw my packed empty," said another visitor Tanmai Saxena.

However, officials from India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) seem to be unaware about the issue. PC Sharma, general manager, ITPO said "We will definitely inform the police department and ask them to keep a check on their officials. But, it has already been declared that the trade fair is a non-smoking zone. So people should also remain aware of this. They should also not carry cigarette with them. But still we will take some action." DCP (IITF) VA Gupta was unavailable for comments.
