As many as 136 passengers on board a Delhi-bound Spicejet flight had a narrow escape on Wednesday evening.
The flight Spicejet 219 which took off for Delhi at 6:35 pm from Kolkata airport was running late by around one hour. However, during the takeoff pilot noticed smoke in the left engine. The flight was aborted and airline engineers inspected the aircraft.

The flight was later cleared at around 8:20 pm. " While it was in the air barely after 15 minutes the crew members noticed that cabin pressure was not correct. and the plane headed back to Kolkata airport where it made an emergency landing," airport sources said in Delhi.

"All the passengers are safe and the flight again took off at around 10:20 in the evening," said an airport official from Kolkata airport.u00a0
