Just when it was getting hot and humid, rains lashed the Capital on Sunday evening brining down the mercury and giving the residents a much needed respite from the harsh weather. About 2.8 mm rainfall was recorded till 5:30 pm on Sunday.

"We had good time enjoying the rains with friends. I hope the weather remains the same," said a college student Anushree Dutta.u00a0

However, the rains also created problems for commuters as vehicular traffic was affected in some parts of the city due to water logging.

"The weather will be clear by tomorrow and there will be no more rains in coming three to four days," said B P Yadav, Director, Meteorological Department.
