The Samta Nagar police at Kandivali have arrested one Vivek Rajbir Malik for allegedly kidnapping police constable Vasant Dagdu Devkar. Malik is a doctor by profession and was drunk at the time of the incident

The incident took place on Friday about 8.15 pm between the Western Express Highway, Andheri and Ismail Yusuf Flyover, Jogeshwari (East). Forty two year-old Malik met with an accident on the highway. Devkar who is posted at Samta Nagar police station, was on duty and caught Malik. Devkar was trying to take Malik to the police station in Malik’s car but he forcibly took the car to Jogeshwari, with Devkar in it.
Police have arrested Malik.
