Chief Minister Yeddyurappa told reporters today that he did not want to be called Dr Yeddyurappa.
"I will issue a circular soon asking everyone not to put the prefix Dr to my name," he said.
Yeddyurappa said he was not qualified to be calledu00a0 doctor. "There are many people who are much more scholarly and have contributed to the society. Compared to them I have a long way to go. So I do not feel that I should be called a doctor," he said.
In December last year, Yeddyurappa was conferred a honorary doctorate, Doctor of Laws, by US-based Saginaw Valley State University.
