Satisfy the craving for 'unadulterated' Chinese food at Wow, a spanking new eatery in CP

NO Chinese will know noodles better than an Indian will, I believe. And that's why when I Googled Chinese cuisine, I wasn't surprised to read portals that talk about 'Indian Chinese cuisine', the desi version of Chinese food (mostly sold at college nukkads) that was introduced by Chinese who lived in Kolkata.

The ambience is very different from typical Chinese joints

From burgers, pasta to pizzas and even hotdogs, we've spared no international cuisine from Indianisation. Still there're hoteliers in town who swear by genuine tangs, a sample of which can be tasted at Wow, a new kid on the Chinese block.

Doesn't look Chinese
The ambience, at times, is more important than the food itself because a sleek and spunky place gives you a different high. At Wow, you get the same feel. It's very unlike a Chinese restaurant where a combination of red and white coloured walls, hangings and dragons would fill the entire space. Here, a techno blue coloured light envelops the dining area that has comfy low seating, LCD (one for every table) and personal dining area like feel. The ground floor is rather subtle and the arrangement of tables is such that even if the place is packed, diners won't feel intruded by other visitors.

Taste bhi, speed bhi
They're pretty quick at taking orders and serving them, which adds to the wonder of dining here. Given the wide selection of items, it would be a 'task' to decide what should go into your tummy without the help of the staff. Over several rounds of spirits, we left the mark with crispy vegetables in salt and pepper, sliced lamb with fresh chilli and crispy cottage cheese. And even under the 'influence' of those cocktails (primarily mojito), we could feel the awesome taste of freshly sourced ingredients, processed or farm fresh. Since our group was a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians, we graduated to the main course with steamed wheat noodles topped with sliced chicken, bean sprout and pok choy and seasonal vegetables in black bean sauce. Since the preparations were really rich, we couldn't go a step beyond these but yes, we tasted their line of desserts that included hot brownies and fried litchis that are served with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream. We didn't but you can scroll through the list of dumplings, noodle soups, noodle bowls and rice bowls (in sticky, fried and steamed variants).

Bar bar dekho
Their bar is well stocked with Indian made and imported liqueurs. All your favourite scotches, whiskeys, vodka, gin and cocktails find a place on the menu. So whenever you feel the need to roll up your sleeves, you know where to park yourself.
