No cancellations witnessed in flight bookings to the United States in wake of swine flu scare
The swine flu scare has not convinced Punekars travelling to the US to cancel their plans, according to Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI).
Captain Pramod Kohli, national general secretary, TAFI, said, "People who had booked tickets to the US have not cancelled. About five per cent have, however, postponed their travel plans by a week or so in the last two weeks."
Aditi Bhende, chairperson, Pune chapter, TAFI, said, "We have not come across any cancellations as yet.
Tourists have continued to stick to travel plans made before the flu scare. However, with news reports of a US flight carrying a swine flu suspect into India, some travellers may give it a second thought."
Manasi Lele, a housewife, who is flying to the US on a vacation with her family next week, said, "We have not made any changes in our travel itinerary. We are flying to the US as per schedule."
