Flying guru: Ramdev to ride a copter to Amity

Yoga guru to fly in a chopper to Amity campus for doctorate degree

After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, it's the turn of yoga guru Baba Ramdev to join the Amity University's doctorate brigade. He will be felicitated by the university with an honorary doctorate on January 16 on the occasion of the varsity's 5th convocation.

But the guru is doing it in style.

Ramdev is supposed to arrive at the varsity's Noida campus from his ashram in Haridwar in a copter. According to a source, the university is making adequate arrangement for landing of his chopper.

Along with Ramdev, the university will also felicitate three other eminent people from various fields. However, the university spokesperson didn't confirm the other names.

"Our graduation ceremonies are the highlight of the academic year. An important part of the ceremony is the awarding of honorary degrees to individuals who have achieved distinction in their fields and who will provide inspiration to our graduates and students," said an Amity University official.

"Ramdev Baba is a well-known figure who spread the Vedic knowledge of health-consciousness across the globe. He will be an inspiration for our graduates," the official said.

Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev's office confirmed he will be visiting the campus to accept the honorary doctorate degree.
