This is for the first time in three years that junior college will start in July and not in August first week
The first online merit list for Class XI centralised admissions, which was made live yesterday accommodated 50,995 students who had applied for science, arts or commerce streams.
The admissions for the same will be conducted from July 16 to 19 at the respective colleges between 10.30 am and 5 pm, and the college life for these students will start from July 22.u00a0

“As the admission procedure will end on July 19, we decided to start classes for academic year from July 22. This is for the first time in three years that junior college will start in July and not in August first week,” said Suman Shinde, chairperson of Class XI centralised admission committee, and the deputy director of education (Pune Division)
The first waiting list, as per the seats left vacant, will be announced on July 20 at 5 pm, and admission for the same will be held from on July 22 and July 23. Accordingly, the second list will be declared at 5 pm on July 23, and admissions for will be given on July 24 and July 25.
The admissions for under Allowed to Keep Term (ATKT), however, will continue till the month end. Students who have failed in maximum two subjects in SSC will get opportunity to take Class XI admission under ATKT scheme between July 27 and July 29 at Abasaheb Garware College in Karve Road between 10.30 am and 5 pm.
In case where students haven’t participated in the centralised admission procedure, admissions for them will be considered on July 30-31. However, such students will be admitted depending upon the seats available and the cut-off percentage.
Technical glitch leads to anxious moments
Those eagerly waiting for this years online merit list had to go through some anxious moments yesterday, as the website on which the list was made live was down for three hours due to technical snag.

“The website www.dydepune.com was not operational for three hours due to technical snag. I don’t know the exact reason, but the problem has been solved now,” said Shinde, She added that the committee had declared the merit list on three websites, and only one site developed problems.
“Besides the online list, we had also given a copy of booklet having cut offs percentage of every college. Hence, those facing problems sought help from colleges,” Shinde said u00a0
