The differently inclined in the city have a reason to rejoice. Jump in to show your support and have some serious fun at the Pink Rupee party tomorrow

No love, in any form, is a crime, and it took many years before lawmakers realised it. The happiness from the amendment of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code continues, and so do the celebrations.

The city's LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community is gearing up with full fervour for the next queerfest in the capital, and the fundraiser party is open for all. Called the Pink Rupee Party, it promises to be a gala affair loaded with much fun and frolic, and you're invited age, sex, love interests and gender no bar.

Come one, come all
The Nigah Queerfest is to be held in October. The 10-day event will include film screenings, performances, photo exhibitions and workshops. The pride of the fest remains in the fact that it's totally funded by the queer community and its supporters, and this time, you have the chance to stand up, too.

Nigah is a non-funded queer collective that works on issues of gender and sexuality. Apart from lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders, the community understands queer to be any identity, politics or process that challenges dominant norms.

Pride ride
The fun night is expected to be attended by around 200 people, most of whom either belong to the queer community, or are its supporters. You can look forward to meeting people from the community, befriend them or just interact.

"This is a party for a reason, but not just another party at the night club. Our pride is that we have always been self-supportive," says Mohnish Malhotra, one of the organisers. Worth an experience, but remember to go with an open mind.
