About eight months ago, Kapil Muzumdar (founder, Tadaatma), Ashwita Hosbettu and Rachana Kulkarni, from the communications industry decided to start their own art house to showcase their creativity. That was the beginning of Tadaatma (which translates into 'that soul').

Recently, the trio hosted an exhibition that showcased story paintings to adorn walls; including artwork from smoke ash paintings. Never mind if you missed the real thing, you can log on to their site and browse through the range on offer.

Tadaatma's work covers a vast range: contemporary canvas artwork in various mediums. They will decorate your walls with quirky designs; design T-shirts, umbrellas, bags and ceramic gift articles, with interesting quotes and motifs. Some of their designs include a pun on certain words with an accompanying design (for eg: Mandatetree, for mandatory), poems etched on umbrellas, mythological symbols etched on T-shirts, etc. If you love your name and want its starting letter painted on an umbrella, they will create a collage of all the symbols and signs associated with the letter, just for you.

"We intend to publish books as well as promote performing arts soon; that's at the next stage. Currently, our focus is on providing one-of-a-kind handmade pieces. We work with a group of artists and it helps that we have an art background as well," states Ashwita Hosbettu, co-founder of Tadaatma.u00a0
