Japan invited to be part of the Commonwealth Games

In a strategic move, the Commonwealth Business Club India (CBCI), a partnership between FICCI and the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, opened its doors to some 140 top Japanese corporations present in India to explore the possibilities of adding value to the 2010 Games

In a strategic move, the Commonwealth Business Club India (CBCI), a partnership between FICCI and the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, opened its doors to some 140 top Japanese corporations present in India to explore the possibilities of adding value to theu00a0 2010 Games.


Companies like Cannon, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Honda, Suzuki has been invited to offer state-of-art business solutions in areas of technology, telecom, developing temporary structures, material handling equipment etc.

TS Darbari, Joint Director General, OC CWG 2010 Delhi and in charge of the CBCI made a presentation to the Japanese Corporates at the Japanese Ambassador's Residence and this was personally facilitated byu00a0 H.E. Mr. Hideaki Domichi, Ambassador of Japan.

Although Japan is not a Commonwealth country, it is amongst the most important economic partners of India along with USA, Germany, France, and China.u00a0 During the current year till July 2009, the bilateral trade between the two countries was totalled $5.46 billion. Thus keeping in view CBCI's vision of closely working with Prime Economic Partners of India from leading world economies, even from non-Commonwealth Countries, this exercise is to enhance and deepen economic cooperation with Japan around the Games.
