Kanpur: A 22-year-old engineering student died after being run over by a train at a railway level crossing in GT Road area in Kanpur district, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place when, the victim, Aditya, a resident of Unnao was run over by a train while he was crossing the railway tracks, SSP Surendra Tiwari said. "Aditya was returning home from college last night, when he was hit by a train at the railway level crossing," the victim's friend Sanjay Yadav told police.


He was taken to the hospital by his friends where he was declared brought dead, police added. The body has been sent for postmortem. His family was informed, they said, adding that probe is underway.
