All he wanted from his friend was some liquor to drink. Instead he got death and his body was dumped in a drain. The incident occurred in Vijay Vihar area of outer Delhi. Police said that the deceased, who has been identified as Surender, an activist of Bajrang Dal, had an argument with his friend Birpal, who works as a guard of a gas-agency.
"Birpal said that he had been consuming liquor in the complex of a gas agency at around 3 am when Surender, who was known to him, came and requested for liquor. However, Birpal refused and a fight broke out between them. In fit of rage, Birpal took an iron rod and hit Surender on his head. He suffered severe injuries and collapsed. Birpal then threw his body in a drain," said a senior police official.
Police said Surender's cell phone recovered from the incident spot helped them contact his father who was then called to identify the body.
