Narender, an executive with a private firm, made alleged obscene gestures at the two girls near a cinema in Saket, south Delhi. Taking umbrage to the indiscriminate behaviour, the school-going girls called up the police. Narender's friends soon fled the spot but the girls caught him.
"The girls were able to hold him until we reached the spot," a police official said.
Initially, Narender was defiant but as soon as he was taken to the police station, he started pleading innocence. He even apologised to the girls not to press charges against him. However, on the insistence of the girls a case under Section 509 (making obscene gestures) was registered against him. He was later released on bail.
"The accused was asking for forgiveness but we had to arrest him as the girls demanded action," the cop said.
