Late BJP leader's nephew shoots at property dealer

"The victim, Billoo lives in Dichaon Kalan and deals in real estate. He had a property dispute with the said accused Pawan Lakra, the nephew of Mr Verma. Billoo along with his friends was sitting at his residence when Lakra along with his four associates (who were turbaned) reached at his place.

They then had a heated argument. The argument turned violent and in a fit of rage, Lakra took out a pistol and fired at the victim. Billoo suffered two bullet injuries on his hand and knee while Lakra fled from the spot along with his associates," said a senior police officer.

The officer added that Billoo was rushed to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Police said that he was not fit to testify and so they took the statements of his friends.

"We have taken the statement of Billoo's friends who were present at the crime scene. They have accused Lakra and his associates in the case. We will lodge an FIR under section 307 of IPC against Pawan Lakra on the basis of the statement given by the victim's friends," said the police officer.
