Says the Delhi government official breached his special parliamentary rights and behaved in an arrogant manner; matter has reached the home ministry

Member of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh Prem Chand Guddu is an unhappy man. The Ujjain MP claims that the deputy commissioner of slum and jhuggi jhopdi (JJ) department in Delhi allegedly breached his special rights of a parliamentarian by refusing to talk to him. In this regard, the MP filed a complaint on July 8 with Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and minister of state, parliamentary affairs V Narayanasamy. The latter has reportedly forwarded the matter to the home ministry.

It all started on July 6, when Guddu's PA, Virender, called RC Meena, deputy commissioner of slum and JJ department for some work but could not reach him as he was not in office at the time. "When I called him first, he was not in office. The next day I called him on his mobile and he, in an arrogant tone, told me not to call him on his number ever. He also told me that he didn't know any Prem Chand Guddu and if we had some work, we would have to come to his office and speak with him. He then disconnected the line," Virender said.

"Meena spoke very rudely with my PA and he also breached my special parliamentary rights. In this regard, I have sent a written complaint against him to various departments, including the office of Delhi chief minister, but no action has been taken as yet. We had called him for a small reason, which is personal, but he replied very rudely," MP Prem Chand Guddu said.

The other side
"The MP wants me to do some illegal work and when I refused, he wrote a complaint to Delhi chief minister and other departments about my supposed misbehaviour and arrogance. Now, I will also complain to the concerned departments about this matte." - RC Meena
