Mumbai: A man, in his mid-forties, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself today at Superintendent of Police (SP) office in Nanded district in Marathwada region of Maharashtra, police said.
The person, who was yet to be identified, hanged himself to death with a rope on the last floor of the SP office building today evening, a senior police officer said.
Police have recovered a diary from the spot and name of place Hingoli (in Maharashtra) is mentioned in it. Thus, we (police) suspect that the deceased hails from Hingoli, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are underway, the officer added.
