New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday launched Indian Railways website for National Rail Plan (NRP), 2030.

"Indian Railways needs to form a concrete plan about its doings in the coming 10-20 years," Prabhu told reporters here.

He said that after receiving ideas, the Railways will capture all the requirements from the different stakeholders.

Pointing out at the requirement of the dedicated website, Prabhu said: "If we have a proper structured demand and decide the time to implement it, it will be very good for the country and the person making the demand."

He elaborated that the railways do not want to beat the other modes of transport by competing but want to work by complementing.

"Railways will be including all the ideas received during recently held Rail Vikas Shivir in the National Rail Plan," he said.

According to the railways, the dedicated website for National Rail Plan (NRP, 2030) -- www.nationalrailplan.in -- has been developed for all stakeholders to give their inputs for purposeful study as the railways' planning cannot be done in isolation.
