Rock on!
For those of you who love your dose of rock and metal, here's some good news. Bharath and Bushra, in collaboration with Provoke an artistes' collective have started a movement called The Live Gig.u00a0

The Live Gig is an open forum for the city's musicians to showcase their talent. The fortnightly event takes place at the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain. This group has held five successful shows so far. Bands like Ston'd, Heavy Water, Grubby Halo, Nevermind and Slain have performed along with the talented Bruce Lee Mani of Thermal and a Quarter at The Live Gig.

"We want the public and the police to know that we are law-abiding citizens and not junkies as they believe," says Bharath.u00a0

At: Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain, opp Nehru Planetarium
On: Sunday (every fortnight), 10 am-6 pm.

Be there!
We are called the rock city of India not just because there are many people who love this genre of music but also because we are a host to countless local bands. It's great to watch Iron Maiden and Megadeth live, but let's also show some support to our very own musicians who are struggling to be heard. Bands are formed but die an untimely death as they struggle to find support and sponsors. The dark clouds do have the proverbial silver lining. Musicians, young and young-at-heart, are organising free gigs. So, be there and encourage them.
