Principal assures students will not be forced to use school bus instead of private vans
Thursday was parents' day at Vidya Bhawan Girls Secondary School in central Delhi's Rajinder Nagar area.
Around 200 parents protested against the school authorities, which had a day before allegedly punished students for using private vans instead of school buses.

The police had to be called in to control the crowd.
Geeta Kumari, one of the parents who was protesting outside the school, said, "If the principal forces us to use the school bus service, we will continue to protest. The private vans are much cheaper and more convenient."

Meanwhile, Tuli denied allegations that the school had to repay a loan it had taken to buy the buses and was harassing students. "There must have been a communication problem. We will not force any student into taking the bus," said Tuli.

As MiD DAY had reported on Wednesday, around 300 students of the school were made to stand out in the sun for about two hours as they were still using private vans to come to school.
According to the parents, the school authorities had asked them to stop using the van service.
