Having a peg of whisky sitting on a pearl-coloured velvet chair roaming around in the romantic desert of Rajasthan, welcome on board the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.

The super rich tourist who visit India to witness the grandeur of the desert state has yet another reason to splurge. The train is India's answer to some of the world's costliest luxury trains like the Orient Express of Europe and the Blue Train of South Africa.

With a top fare of 2,000 US dollars (Rs 97,600) per person per night, the Royal is three times costlier than the premium Palace on Wheels.

Occupants of the two plush suites of the train would travel by luxury cars while sightseeing and have personal attendants.

The Rs 40-crore Royal also offers two resto bars, complete with lounging area, bar counters and eating areas. Spa and Wi-fi connectivity would soon add up to the host of services provided on the train.

Both the Palace and the Royal follow the same itineraryu00a0Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Agra and back to Delhi after a week.

With a capacity of 82 persons, the train would have 13 deluxe saloons and one super deluxe, four service cars and two restro bars.

There will be pantry with every coach and attendants will be on duty at all times. The traveler will also have the facility of a library with choicest of books.

Restro lounges are named Swarn Mahal and Sheesh Mahal. The deluxe saloons are named Hawa Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Surya Mahal, Moti Mahal, Jal Mahal etc. The coupes in these saloons are named on gemstones like pearl, ruby and furnishings in the colour of the stone they are named after.
