Hundreds of students from College of Agriculture protested over the lack of scholarships for several years at a rally at the Shivajinagar campus yesterday.
“I received the scholarship way back in 2009, when I was in the first year. Since then nothing has come my way. Despite approaching college administration time and again, nothing has happened till date,” Balasaheb Gawde, a final-year student, said.
Principal Dr Anil Karale said, “Yes, there is a backlog of scholarships for the last three years, and we have been updating the social welfare department about it.
But its officials claim that non-allocation of funds for Pune division is the reason for the delay in passing on the scholarship funds to colleges.”
