A renowned international stylist, who is representing India at the Miss World Tourism pageant in Malaysia on January 27 and fractured her elbow recently, has found an unlikely savior in Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Mumbai-based Ishika Taneja, 27, who won the Miss India Tourism title in 2016, had recently injured her elbow after a fall. Despite her condition, Taneja was determined to participate at the pageant in Malaysia.
However, her assistant, who was expected to accompany her, had been refused a passport to fly to Malaysia.
Taneja, who would need help during her Malaysia tour, immediately reached out to Swaraj on Twitter. "Dear Sushma Swaraj, Need your help urgently...I have fractured my elbow and I have to leave for Miss World Tourism on Tuesday for Malaysia. My assistant doesn't have a passport, I need to travel with me due to medical reason. Passport office is unable to solve my problem so urgently. It's my humble request to issue her a passport on Tuesday so that I can participate and make our nation proud (sic)," Taneja's tweet to Swaraj read.

Swaraj immediately took notice of the request and replied to her tweet around 11 pm last night. "Yes, we will help you. My office will contact you tomorrow morning," her reply stated.
Taneja has previously styled singers like Britney Spears and Rihanna, and also has a Guinness World Record for the fastest airbrush make-up in just an hour. Despite repeated attempts, Taneja was unavailable for comment.
