Apart from the four deaths in Maharashtra, one swine flu death each was reported from Haryana, Delhi and Karnataka. With these the casualty figure has jumped to 143 in Maharashtra, 15 in Delhi and four in Haryana.
Though the details of Haryana and Maharashtra deaths were not available, in Delhi the 15th victim was a 27-year-old woman.
The patient died at the Safdarjung Hospital. She was suffering from rheumatic heart diseases and had undergone treatment at the Escort Heart Institute before being shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital.
Besides, the capital city reported 27 fresh cases taking the total number of infection so far to 2,920. However, around 90 per cent of them have been cured completely. Of the fresh cases, 15 are children.
Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia said, "The situation is under control. (There is) no need to panic."
Also the country reported 174 fresh cases, taking the number of people infected by H1N1 to 11,068. Of these 174, Maharashtra reported 48 cases, followed by Karnataka 29 and Delhi 27 cases.
In Himachal Pradesh two students and a teacher of Alpine Residential School at Pinjore have tested positive, state nodal officer for swine flu Vinod Mehta said. Now, the total number of positive cases in Himachal has jumped to seven.
