A class-4 student from West Bengal's Dumdum district was on Thursday allegedly beaten mercilessly for writing wrong roll number in her answersheet.

The victim, who is a student of St. Stephen School, was allegedly kicked by her enraged school teacher. The victim's mother said that no parents would be able to trust the school authorities after this incident. The child is too scared to go to school anymore.
A similar incident occurred in a village in Bengaluru where a seven-year-old girl was beaten black and blue for not doing her homework which resulted her father lodging a formal complaint against the teacher. (Read more)
