A group of IT professionals, along with activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), staged a silent protest at the Hijewadi IT Park yesterday to create awareness about the misuse of Section 66A of the IT Act.
Taping their mouth shut — symbol of being gagged — the demonstrators distributed pamphlets and spoke to employees of several IT companies in the area.u00a0
The group claims that it has approached Union IT and Communications Minister Kapil Sibbal demanding an amendment in the IT Act “Section 66A was formed to prevent use of Internet as a tool to spread hatred and promote anti-national activities.
