The accident took place in Rampur's Milakkhanam area which is 300 kms from Lucknow inside a house where crackers were being manufactured. The couple had a valid license for manufacturing crackers.

"The explosion was so intense that a couple and their son died on the spot. All the three were involved in manufacturing crackers.Those injured are being treated at a hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical," a police officer said.
