Three militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Loopjal area in Mahore forest belt in the district, 110 km from here, early this morning, a police official said here.
The gun battle broke out when the militants fired on the joint operation party, he said adding that three ultras were killed in the encounter. The operation is still going on, the official said.
