Vrushali Mehta's multi-designer store at Koregaon Park displays Indian wear and accessories for fashionistas

If you're planning on showing off bright and glittery designs this festive season then Vrushali Mehta's multi-designer store is the right destination for you. At first glance, you might miss the store as it shares the space with another brand. But the moment you enter, colourful interiors and sparkling clothes will catch your attention.

You can pick up Indian wear including salwar kameez, kurtis, tunics, accessories, jewellery, by a whole range of designers, including Lina Tipnis, Gautam Prabhakar, Sakshi Malhotra and others.

Mehta mentions that lately the market has picked up for designerwear. "The competition in Pune is very less compared to Mumbai as the awareness about designers and their collection is less here." She adds that all the collections are handpicked and caters to the taste of the city-bred. Although she is based in Mumbai, Mehta keeps shuffling between the two cities as the store is her first venture as an entrepreneur.

The store looks very spacious and colourful: white walls juxtaposed against bright pinks. Clothes and accessories are displayed neatly. As clothes are not over-flowing on the racks, one can get ample space and time to take a careful look at each piece. A huge wall-to-wall mirror stands in the centre of the store for you to admire the clothes as you try them on.

Most of the clothes we saw on display were meant for the festive season. The pieces were made of silk and cotton. The focus was on Anarkali dresses, which had various design and fabric combined. We loved the combination of these designsu00a0-- they had a very Mughal-E-Azam feel. Other kurtis were more casual and tunics more trendy and western. The jewellery section is quite impressive with chic yet traditional designs. The semi-precious stone earrings, neckpieces and a Meena work kangan was particularly lustworthy.

An oval-shaped, gold clutch with large beads stood out. Most other bags seemed like repetitive designs, we've seen before. The footwear section had fancy strappy and stonework pieces to go with the clothes and jewellery.
