Srinagar: Two militants were killed on Thursday in a gunfight with security forces in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. "Two militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Patushai village today," a senior police official told IANS here.

"Security forces including Rashtriya Rifles (RR) troops and the special operations group (SOG) of state police started an operation in the early hours of Thursday morning after receiving information about the presence of a group of militants."
"The exact identity of the slain militants is being established. Search operation is ongoing in the area," the official added.
