The last rites of Havildar Madan Lal, who had laid down his life in Jammu and Kashmir's Naugam Sector on September 20 while leading his team in the operation that foiled an infiltration bid by armed terrorists, were on Wednesday held in his hometown, Gharota, Punjab with full military honours.

His whole family was seen in pain and tears as they bid their final goodbye to the braveheart.

Havildar Madan Lal, who hailed from village Gharota Pathankot, is survived by his wife Bhawna Devi and two young children ---a six-year-old daughter and a two-year old son.
