Do Bangaloreans believe that the attacks in Australia are racist, or do they think the media is hyping something commonplace?

ARE parents,u00a0 paranoid about the racial attacks? Do they feel the Indian government is doing enough?
What do international organisations that deal with cross-border courses feel about the whole issue? With S M Krishna resuming fresh dialogue withu00a0 his Australian counterpart,u00a0we ask Bangalore...

Gaurav Shanbhag
My brother has been in Australia for almost a year now. Two months ago when the reports first began, we were extremely worried.

He told us that it wasn't anything to worry about and that such attacks were common and not really racial in nature. S M Krishna, however, could have begun his talks with the Australian government much earlier, for everyone's benefit.

Sudha R Gopal
My son has been in Australia for almost two years now and we talk to him once a week.

He is fine and has not faced any racial discrimination. So we don't really have anything to worry about.

Anurita Chandrappa, vice president, AIESEC
AIESEC is mainly a student's youth organisation facilitating internship. The news about the attack on Indian students abroad has not really affected our functioning.

We still maintain good relations with the Australian embassy and students still jump at an opportunity to go abroad, even if it's to Australia.

Let's just say that we get to hear about these racial attacks only through the media.
