What's the Pink Panther doing in Pune?

The GUIDE dropped in at Falhaar at Viman Nagar to try some of their 150 varieties of juices with exotic names like pink panther

If you are bored of the usual fast food suspects and crave for something healthy, take heart as a new juice joint has come up at Viman Nagar. Falhaar offers over 150 types of juices as well as chaats, sandwiches, pizzas, falooda and ice creams. We feel the name combines fal (fruit) with aahar (food), which is apt considering their menu.

The eatery may not have a fancy ambience but the youngsters who hang out there aren't complaining. When we visited, we spotted students as well as working professionals who come in to spend some quality time after a hectic day at work. We immediately spotted the fresh fruits they use for preparing juices, including mangoes and sitafal juices, which are available throughout the year. Their signature juices are Paradise, Pink Panther, Screwdriver and last but not the least -- Tongue Twister.u00a0

We started off with Paradise (Rs 67), which on first sip itself takes you to heaven. The combination of sweet strawberries with tangy orange and refreshing lemon juice made for a perfect combo. Each of the fruits are loaded with Vitamin C, which we were told is good for the immune system and helps maintain healthy gums and strong hair.

Switching to Pink Panther (Rs 73), we noted that it is made from an interesting combination of litchi ros ufffd and vanilla. It was delicious and we felt fully satiated with it.

The Tongue Twister (Rs 73) is made from pineapple and lemon and is supposed to be a crowd-puller. We liked the combination as it leaves your tongue with a strong but pleasant aftertaste, which is also responsible for its
quirky name.

The Screw Driver (Rs 63) is made from khus and lemon, which gives it a yummy soft-drink-like fizz and leaves you energized. We would give up energy drinks anytime for this energy booster.

Interestingly, they have combo juices such as P2 (plum, peach), P3 (plum, peach, pineapple), P4 (plum, peach, pineapple, peru) and P5 (plum, peach, pineapple, peru, papaya), which sound like secret codes. By now, we craved for some food, so we tried the Pahari Grilled Sandwich (Rs 53). With a stuffing of onion, tomato and capsicum, it is yummy and the best part is the red garlic chutney served with it.

The Masala Cheese Grilled sandwich (Rs 67) was wholesome and a meal by itself. It has a filling of potato, onion, tomato, capsicum and cheese to form a huge sandwich. We couldn't resist trying the Chocolate Sandwich (Rs 63), which comes with chocolate wafers and real chocolates. The bread was toasted crisp and the generous chocolate stuffing is a chocoholic's dream.

Thanks to their target clientele consisting of students who are always in hurry, the attendants are prompt in serving orders. Hence, we didn't have to wait long for our order to arrive.u00a0
