When women let their hair down for a beer night

And you had to see it to believe itu00a0-- a group of 50-odd women were having a whale of a time guzzling beer and having a blast on the dance floor at The Brew House & Pub, The Corinthians. And it was all they needed to have a great time on a Wednesday night. No men, no fun, is not what they believe in. To reiterate this, Swati Mudha, who runs an event management company, who had already downed one glass of beer and was on her second, said, "The atmosphere is chilled out as everyone is dancing and singing. Along with it you have mild wheat beer, which doesn't hit you quick. It's so much fun!"

Karaoke provided the perfect setting for sipping beer and women got together in groups to sing popular old numbers. There were matkas, jhatkas and lots of twists. Rasika Wakalkar, a businesswoman, said, "With summer setting in, beer will be the preferred drink. Also, each woman present here is well-travelled, knows how beer is brewed and also the difference between various kinds of beers. The ambience is perfect, karaoke is fun and it's great to hangout with friends."

While some women were engrossed in discussions, others let their hair down and pulled their friends to the dance floor. With one-piece dresses, halter-neck tops, jeans, three-fourths and skirts dominating the party, it was clear that each of them was in their best summer dress.u00a0

Pallavi Zaveri believes that more women-only beer parties will follow in the coming months and this one is just the beginning. "Beer is just perfect for the summers," she said. All these women belong to a group called the Tiger Lilies club. The group meets quite regularly and comes up with new and innovative ideas to party. With the list ranging from classical music shows to wine parties, it has proven that the ladies never forget to party hard.
