Last Saturday night, thieves attacked the company office situated on Langford road, Ashok Nagar, stole Rs 25,000 in cash and possibly took a good look at sensitive case papers.

The agency's CEO denied the incident occurred, but police records show a complaint was lodged.

According to sources, the office's night watchman had followed procedure and gone on his rounds at midnight.

When he came back, he allegedly found the office door broken. Important case papers were allegedly scattered all over the office and Rs 25,000 was missing.

Police sources said no arrests had been made but they suspected someone familiar with the office to be behind it because of old enmity.

CEO in denial

G R Prasad, CEO, Eagle Detective Agency said, "There was no such robbery. I didn't lodge any complaint with the police and am not interested in commenting about this."

Yet, police records prove that it was Prasad who filed the complaint.

Investigating officer Sub Inspector Shivraj, of Ashok Nagar police station said, "Yes, we have registered a case and started investigations, but we cannot divulge any information as it will affect the investigation. We are watching all the people attached to the agency. Right now, we cannot say for sure who was behind it."
