Despite the confusion with regard to Bhongir, CPI(M) supports Congress in the remaining 16 seats, he said.  Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy said the talks were held as per the directives of the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and that CPI(M) broadly decided to support Congress to defeat the BJP. He expressed confidence that a few other contentious issues would be resolved soon. (With PTI Inputs)

"Mandi will teach a lesson to Congress's princes": Kangana Ranaut

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, known for being vocal about her thoughts opened up on disrespect shown to women in Mandi. On Saturday, BJP candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut said that the people of Mandi will teach a lesson to the gangs of "shehzadas" for making inappropriate comments and disrespecting the women of the state. While addressing to the public gathering in Jhakari, an area of Mandi Parliament constituency, Kangana called Vikramaditya Singh the "Prince of Rampur" and took exception to his reference to her Bollywood. Vikramaditya Singh is a successor of the erstwhile Bushahr estate, now known as Rampur. It is also known as one of the 17 assembly segments in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. Also Read: Harvey Weinstein hospitalized after his return to New York Referring to Kangana, Singh had earlier said, "I pray to Lord Ram to give her wisdom and hope she goes back pure from 'Dev Bhoomi' Himachal to the Bollywood because she will not win the election since she knows nothing about people of Himachal."  In Kangana Ranaut's rally, she responded to the dig by saying, "Now they are saying that I am impure because I have come here after working in the film industry and I should first go and purify myself." Following her Bollywood career, Kangana found the remark offensive. She stated that by working in films, she supported her family, educated her siblings and also helped her sister get treatment who was the victim of an acid attack. She compared Vikramaditya Singh, who comes from money, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, she said, "was born in a poor family and saw his mother struggle while growing up." This is the reason he gave 33 per cent reservation to the women in Lok Sabha as well as Vidhan Sabha, Kangana claimed. (With PTI Inputs)

Walk for Kejriwal: AAP organises rally amidst Chief Minister's legal woes

On Sunday morning, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a walkathon called "Walk for Kejriwal" in the national capital to show solidarity with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is now detained due to ongoing legal processes. The event attempted to rally support for Kejriwal, who is under legal scrutiny, especially after his recent incarceration by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to the spirits policy, reported IANS.  According to the report, Saurabh Bharadwaj, a minister and prominent AAP politician, participated in the walkathon and emphasised the party's anti-corruption position. Bharadwaj highlighted the installation of a "BJP washing machine," which represents the party's dedication to removing corrupt leaders. He emphasised the AAP's anti-corruption theme while criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that recent changes in Modi's electoral rhetoric signal concern about the opposition's growing power. Echoing Bharadwaj's comments, another AAP leader and Delhi Minister, Atishi, reaffirmed the people's willingness to support Kejriwal during these trying times. Atishi emphasised that the walkathon represented the people of Delhi's constant support for Kejriwal, despite the BJP's efforts to stymie AAP's election campaign by imprisoning him, the report added. "Today the youth wing of the party has organised a walkathon. We have installed a BJP washing machine here, if you put any corrupt leader in this machine, he will come out clean," Bharadwaj asserted. He, reflecting on political dynamics amid Lok Sabha Elections 2024, said, "PM Narendra Modi is very nervous. The way he has changed his stance in his election rallies makes it clear that even he believes that the Opposition is coming to power." "Today through this walkathon, the people of Delhi have come to express their support for Kejriwal ji. BJP thought that if they put Arvind Kejriwal in jail, AAP would not be able to campaign for the elections. But the people of Delhi are campaigning for Arvind Kejriwal," Delhi minister Atishi said, The walkathon provided an opportunity for AAP supporters to demonstrate solidarity with Kejriwal and reaffirm their devotion to the party's beliefs in the wake of ongoing court challenges and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
