The Bihar Government and the organising committee have made elaborate and culturally rooted arrangements for the special guests attending the Bihar CM's oath ceremony in Patna on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the chief ministers of nearly a dozen National Democratic Alliance (NDA) -ruled states were present at the ceremony.

They were welcomed with an extensive spread showcasing Bihar’s famed cuisine.

Special tea and traditional delicacies such as Nimki, Dhokla, Mathri, Barh ki Laai and Gujiya have been prepared for the visiting dignitaries, reported news agency IANS. A private hotel has been tasked with managing tea and snacks in the hangars and the green room at Gandhi Maidan.

Given the presence of high-profile guests, the hotel staff has also rehearsed the preparation and serving of these items to ensure timely service throughout the event.

Litti-Chokha and Makhana Kheer are the highlights of the menu, being prepared in the traditional style by the hotel’s culinary team, IANS reported.

Bihar CM oath ceremony: Hotel also preparing popular dishes from other states

A variety of other Bihari dishes will also be served to offer guests a complete taste of the state’s rich culinary heritage.

However, the spread is not restricted to Bihari fare alone. In honour of the states from which senior leaders and Chief Ministers are arriving, the hotel is also preparing popular dishes from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Manipur, IANS reported.

These diverse preparations reflect the government’s intention to make the swearing-in not just a political function but a grand cultural and culinary celebration.

Alongside the food and hospitality arrangements, security and logistical preparations have been made at the highest level.

Ambulances, medical staff and emergency facilities have been stationed around Gandhi Maidan and in guest accommodations to ensure immediate response to any unforeseen situation.

Special seating and reception arrangements have also been put in place for those attending the ceremony.

In addition to refreshments and dining facilities, a cultural programme featuring folk artists will be showcased. Maithili Thakur and other performers will present traditional music, dance and folk songs, adding to the atmosphere steeped in Bihar’s cultural identity.

These extensive preparations at Gandhi Maidan highlight the Bihar government’s effort to turn the Bihar CM oath ceremony into a celebration of the state’s cultural, social and culinary richness, making the occasion memorable not only for visiting dignitaries but also for the people of Bihar.
